The percentage of investors who own 25 or more different stocks is appalling. It is not this number of 25 or more which itself is appalling. Rather it is that in the great majority of instances only a small percentage of such holdings is in attractive stocks about which the investor has a high degree of knowledge.

Senator Carl Levin blasts Goldman Sachs over email calling Timberwolf investment 'one sh***y deal'

One thing is clear from today’s Goldman Sachs Senate hearings – Sen. Carl Levin does NOT approve of “sh***y deals.”

 

Goldman Sachs executives appearing before a Senate panel investigating whether they profited from dealing investors toxic mortgage securities got an earful Tuesday from Levin – who blasted the company for an internal e-mail describing an investment the company sold to a client as “one sh***y deal.”

 

An incensed Levin, chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations leading the investigation, hammered executives testifying for Goldman, and in an unusually colorful statement that has quickly become must-see viral video, repeated the expletive 11 times......
